Considering that organic beekeeping is already a reality in Portugal, the project implementation pretend to encourage the access of a significant number of beekeepers to this production mode, giving them a true picture of its potential based on the experience of already certified organic beekeepers. The consultation of all stakeholders in the current control process, production and marketing will further identify the existing barriers and to propose alternatives that aim to a buster of the business, increasing market availability of organic bee products, currently well appreciated by consumers. The project is scientifically coordinated by CIMO in collaboration with the National federation of Portuguese Beekepers and financed by the 'Programa Nacional Apícola'.
