BEVERAGE CLARIFICATION PROCESS USING FRUIT PEEL. The present invention refers to a process for clarifying beverages, referring to the use of fruit peels for the preparation of flour and its subsequent use for sedimentation of particles suspended in drinks, replacing the use of bentonite. The invention aims to obtain a natural clarifier with a profile of reuse of residues not previously used for this purpose.
Aplicação de um consórcio de leveduras na elaboração de bebidas fermentadas à base de mel
A presente invenção refere-se a um processo de fabricação de uma bebida fermentada a base de mel de abelha social e água potável, fermentada por um consórcio de leveduras, Saccharomyces cerevisiae e leveduras não-Saccharomyces, preferencialmente a Torulaspora delbrueckii. O mosto é preparado conforme o teor alcoólico desejado, para isso é determinado o teor de açucares redutores no mel, a partir da massa definida é avolumada com água potável, adicionado nutrientes e calibrado o pH, sendo na sequência pasteurizada. Após resfriamento do referido mosto, acrescenta-se as leveduras pré-hidratadas a Saccharomyces cerevisiae e Torulaspora delbrueckii. A invenção pretende a obtenção de uma bebida com tempo reduzido de fermentação, composição aromática diferenciada e redução de compostos indesejados.
Method of producing a catalyst based on columnar clays for the oxidation of phenols in aqueous solution with hydrogen peroxide
The utility model is related to the field of catalysis, namely, to the technology for producing catalysts based on columnar clays used for the oxidation of phenol with hydrogen peroxide in aqueous solutions. The effect is the reduction of the duration needed to achieve complete phenol degradation by catalytic oxidation in an aqueous solution in the presence of hydrogen peroxide in comparison with the prototype. The new method developed includes washing steps in order to obtain the columnar clays with high levels of purification and elimination of inorganic impurities contained in the raw natural clays.

The present invention relates to the development of new milk products through the incorporation of microparticles into yogurts as an alternative to existing milk beverages incorporated with phytosterols. THE ADVANTAGES OF THE NEW DEVELOPED PRODUCTS ARE ESSENTIALLY THE USE OF LOWER CONCENTRATIONS OF THESE MOLECULES TO OBTAIN A HIGH HYPOCOLESTEREMIC ACTIVITY; AND THE USE OF THE BIOLOGICAL RESIDUES PRODUCED BY THE MUSHROOM INDUSTRIES, FOR THE OBTAINMENT OF BIOATIVE MOLECULES OF VALUE ADDED (MICOSTEROLS). IN ADDITION, THE ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY EXPOSED BY THIS CLASS OF COMPOUNDS LEADS TO AN INCREASE IN THE VALIDITY PERIOD OF THE DEVELOPED FOOD PRODUCTS. Software DEEPWINGS® developed by CIMO-IPB researchers
Software DEEPWINGS® developed by CIMO-IPB researchers in cooperation with CEDRI-IPB was registered - Nº 3214/2019 – IGAC 2019. DEEPWINGS® is a computer program based on a machine-learning model acquired from 5000 images. The program can be used to segment honey bee wings and is able to identify, automatically, 19 wings landmarks with an accuracy of 97%, for further subspecies classification. This program is of interest of beekeeper researchers.
HoneyCombMarker
is a computer program whose purpose is to allow the manual annotation in digital images of honeycomb cells in order to build datasets for being used in machine learning models. The program presents some user assistance features to achieve accurate, precise and fast markings. It is possible to annotate the following cell classes: eggs, larvae, capped cells, nectar, pollen, honey, and void. This computer program resulted from the cooperation between CIMO and <a href="http://cedri.ipb.pt/" target="_blank">CeDRI, the Research Centre in Digitalization and Intelligent Robotics at IPB</a>.
