Researcher Profile

Maria Filomena Barreiro holds a degree and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from FEUP. She is a Coordinating Professor at IPB and researcher at the CIMO, having previously been part of the LSRE-LCM. Her research interests are polymeric materials from renewable sources, polyurethane chemistry, microencapsulation, and emulsion technology, with applications in food, cosmetics, and packaging. She deals with natural-based ingredients, stabilization strategies, and the development of functional systems.
