Project to reduce the ecological footprint of meat selected for funding by SusAn ERA-NET
The project EcoLamb (Holistic production to reduce the ecological footprint of meat) was recently approved for funding within the SusAn ERA-net framework. This project (2017-2019) is a collaboration between the Nidge University, Turkey, the Meat Technology Centre of Galicia, Spain, the Instituto Tecnológico Agrario de Castilla y León, Spain, the Turin University, Italy, the University of Stuttgart, Germany, Servicio Regional de Investigación y Desarrollo Agroalimentario (SERIDA), Spain and the Mountain Research Centre (CIMO), in Portugal.
The European Research Area NETwork on Sustainable Animal Production (ERA-NET SusAn) aims to increase international collaboration between research groups in the area of sustainable animal production, in order to speed up research and to reduce overlap; to develop a Common Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda on Sustainable Animal Production; and organise a variety of other joint activities with the goal of promoting research on sustainable animal production, crossing boundaries of countries and regions within and outside the EU.
